Report: Saints guard Andrus Peat has broken thumb
The Associated press reported Monday that Saints starting left guard Andrus Peat has a hand injury. More clarity came Tuesday.
Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports the Pro Bowl performer has a broken thumb.
#Saints Pro Bowl G Andrus Peat, who is sidelined with what was termed a hand injury, has a broken thumb, source said. His timetable for return is unclear and some of it will depend on if he needs surgery to repair it. But Peat hasn’t been ruled out for the opener.

Since surgery reportedly is still a up in the air, it is unknown if the Stanford product will miss regular season action.
Peat, a 2015 first-round draft choice by New Orleans, is in the first season of a five-year extension worth $57.5 million.
