Report: Saints DC Dennis Allen to interview for Bears head coaching job

The Chicago Bears will interview New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Dennis Allen for their head coach opening next week, according to Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football.

The 49-year old Allen was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders from 2012-14 before joining the Saints staff in 2015 and then becoming defensive coordinator in 2016. His time with the Raiders did not go well as he posted a 8-28 record but his success helping shape the New Orleans defense into one of the best in the NFL in recent seasons has put him back on teams’ radars for head coaching jobs.

The Bears are also seeking a new general manager, showing interest in Saints assistant general manager Jeff Ireland.
