Doug Nussmeier, a former offensive coordinator at a host of big-name schools such as Florida, Alabama and Michigan, has been hired to be an offensive analyst at LSU, a source confirmed to The Advocate on Thursday.

Nussmeier was most recently the offensive coordinator for the Gators and was fired after the 2017 season when Dan Mullen was hired as head coach. Florida owes Nussmeier $830,000. He had one year left on his contract with the Gators.

Nussmeier, who played quarterback for the Saints, will work under first-year LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger, who replaced Matt Canada.
