Report: Knicks to sign ex-Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton to two-year deal
His time back home lasted just one season so former Pelicans point guard Elfrid Payton is leaving the Big Easy for the Big Apple.
The John Ehret and Louisiana-Lafayette product has agreed to a two-year contract worth $16 million with the New York Knicks, Shams Charania of The Athletic and Stadium reports.

Last season as a free agent addition for New Orleans, the 25-year old Payton battled injuries but started in all 42 games in which he appeared. He shot 43.4% from the floor, averaging 10.6 points, 7.6 assists and 5.2 rebounds per game. Payton also had 10 double-doubles and and a career-high six triple-doubles.
The starting point guard position in New Orleans was filled with the arrival of Lonzo Ball as part of the trade that sent Anthony Davis to the L.A. Lakers.
