Jonathan Giles, LSU spring football

Former LSU wide receiver Jonathan Giles transferred to the program in early June from Texas Tech. He officially leaves just over two years later.

Giles is now headed to Texas Southern for his final season of eligibility. His dad works as the video coordinator at Texas Southern, plus the campus is close to his Houston home.

The 6-foot, 184 pounder arrived with high expectations that never materialized at LSU. He had 85 catches for 1,313 yards and 16 touchdowns during his two seasons at Texas Tech, but only managed 10 grabs for 59 yards for the Tigers last season while also losing his punt returner role by season’s end.

Given prized jersey No. 7 for the Tigers as an expected team leader and top performer, Giles switched back to No. 12 during an underwhelming season.
