Former LSU and Saints defensive lineman Karl Dunbar left Alabama to take the defensive line job with the Steelers. Another coach with Louisiana connections could replace him in Tuscaloosa.

According to Charlie Potter of Alabama Online, the Crimson Tide has interviewed Tulane defensive line coach Kevin Peoples for the opening.

Peoples, who joined Green Wave head coach Willie Fritz in New Orleans two years ago from their previous stop at Georgia Southern, has also coached at UAB, Arkansas, Arkansas State, Central Missouri and Northern Arizona. He also served as an assistant with the XFL’s Las Vegas Outlaws in 2000.
