Regis Prograis has been matched up with former world lightweight champion Terry Flanagan out of Manchester, England in the quarterfinals of the World Boxing Super Series 140 pound tournament. The draw for the event took place Friday in Moscow.
Date and location for Prograis-Flanagan has yet to be announced.
Prograis (22-0, 19 KOs) defeated Juan Jose Velasco by technical knockout at Lakefront Arena to secure his spot in the tournament. The New Orleans native is also the top seed in the bracket.
WBA champion Kiryl Relikh is also in the tournament while another quarterfinal fight between Ivan Baranchyk and Anthony Yigit will determine the IBF super lightweight championship. For Prograis, that provides the opportunity to add two more world title belts to his WBC Super Lightweight title.
Flanagan (33-1, 10 KOs) vacated his WBO lightweight championship (135 pounds) to move up in weight only to suffer his first career defeat. Maurice Hooker (24-0-3, 16 KOs) took a split decision over Flanagan on June 9 in Manchester for the vacant WBO world junior welterweight title.
