Marcus Scott II became the eighth verbal pledge for LSU’s 2022 recruiting class Wednesday.

The 6-foot-2, 170-pound cornerback considered offers from UNLV, Houston and Kansas State. He and his father took in the sights of Tigertown this past weekend and came away impressed with what they saw.

The Woodlands, Texas product made 27 tackles this past season with 10 passes defended and a pair of interceptions.

Scott displays good ability to break on the ball, has good range, doesn’t get fooled on a receiver’s double move, maintains solid positioning throughout the route with receiver and shows the traits of a lockdown cover corner.
