LSU’s success on the field always translates into promise for the future. The Tigers are fourth ranked on the field this season, and the benefits are coming on the recruiting trail.

The top prospect from Louisiana for the 2020 class, wide receiver Kayshon Boutte from Westgate, pledged to LSU following his unofficial visit to the LSU-Mississippi State game Saturday evening. The 4 star prospect considered offers from Arkansas, Kansas, Tennessee, Ole Miss and West Virginia before committing.

Boutte represents the fifth overall commit for the Tigers in the ’20 class. Four of those are on the offensive side of the ball. There are two other receivers in that group including Kris Abams-Draine from Spanish Fort, Alabama and Darin Turner from Memphis.

The 5-foot-10, 180 pound Boutte is electric. He can take the top off of a defense, times his elevation going up to get the ball, possesses soft hands and shows great acceleration off the line. He is also a good route runner wjo eats up turf during his separation from defender.

Not surprisingly, Boutte also is a force on the track, running the 100, 200 and 400 meters.
