Tulane has been filling in their football recruiting shopping list and now has 23 commitments for the 2018 class. It’s a very good sign that 15 of those are 3 star rated prospects.

The Green Wave corralled a pair of cornerback pledges Monday.

Damien Tate, a 5-foot-8, 170 pound playmaker from Warren Easton committed to McNeese July 21 but shifted gears to pledge to Tulane. He possesses 4.42 speed.

Usually assigned to the opponent’s top receiver the last two seasons, Tate is a lock down cover man. Multi-skilled, he transitions well and also excels on special teams.

Chris Joyce (5-11, 175) is another corner who is headed to Willow Street.

The Hampton, Georgia product has 4.51 speed, squats 375 pounds, and boasts a 36″ vertical. He has held a 2.9 GPA with a 23 on his ACT. His list of suitors included Tennessee, Kent State, UMass, Florida Atlantic, Georgia Southern and Middle Tennessee.

Very fluid, Joyce displays good explosion and burst. He can flip his hips well. Joyce is also a weapon as a return specialist.
