Recruiting: Warren Easton’s Casey Cain to Texas, Karr’s Kenneth Bannister to LA Tech
A pair of local prep stars decided their college destinations Friday.
Warren Easton wide receiver Casey Cain committed to Texas, becoming the 11th pledge for the Longhorns for 2021. He considered offers from Houston, Memphis, Tulane, Vanderbilt, Louisiana Tech, ULM, ULL, Arkansas State, Virginia and Coastal Carolina.
The 6-foot-2, 175-pound Cain also plays basketball and runs track at Easton. He has posted a 24.00 in the 200 meters, 16.83 in the 110 meter hurdles and a 45.45 in the 300 meter hurdles. Cain can also triple jump over 39 feet.
As a receiver, Cain shows good hands and runs good routes to separate from coverage. The three-star talent can play outside, effective after catch.
Another three-star, Edna Karr offensive tackle Kenneth Bannister (6-4, 273), is headed to Louisiana Tech as their fifth commit for 2021. He considered Arizona, Colorado, Miss. State, Houston, West Virginia, Kentucky, Arizona State, Memphis, Tulane, Louisville, Texas Tech, Wake Forest, Washington State, South Alabama and Lamar.
Bannister has great feet and athleticism. He plays with leverage, locks onto defenders and maintains his balance.
