With his pledge, the Buffaloes have 20 commits for 2020 including Clayton as the second running back in the class.
For many years, Colorado recruited the New Orleans area very hard, landing Kordell Stewart (Ehret), Shannon Clavelle (Shaw), Mike Phillips (Ehret) and Vance Joseph (Shaw), to name a few.
However, the four-star talent does have a visit to Kansas scheduled for Dec. 7 that he plans to keep. Les Miles has local connections and assistant coach Tony Hull, previously the head coach at Easton, has pulled talent from Louisiana in recent years. They are hoping to team Clayton with current tailback Pooka Williams, the former Hahnville star.
Clayton is a patient cutback runner who runs to daylight. He tore his meniscus in 2018 but played through it. The 6-foot, 200-pounder runs a 11.00 in the 100 meters.
