Recruiting: University Lab’s Jaiden Ausberry commits to Notre Dame

The top ranked linebacker in Louisiana in the 2023 recruiting class has decided to play his college football out of state.

University Lab’s Jaiden Ausberry paired his final list to Notre Dame, Michigan, Texas A&M and Auburn before pledging to the Fightin’ Irish. He visited the South Bend campus June 22.

His older brother Austin signed with Auburn in the ’22 class. Their father Verge Ausberry, who played linebacker at LSU from 1987-’89, currently serves as the Executive Deputy Athletic Director at LSU.

Jaiden is the seventh rated player overall in the state and eighth nationally among linebackers according to 247 Sports.

Defensive coordinator Al Golden and defensive line coach Al Washington handled the recruiting for Notre Dame.

The 6-foot-1, 210 pounder is very athletic, flows the the action of the play flawlessly and locates the ball in an instant. He has a high football IQ. Jaiden has started since his freshman year at University and has been sharpening his skills every season since, compiling 269 tackles with 18 for losses and 16 sacks.

Ausberry represents the fifth player in the state’s top 10 players in the 2023 class to commit to play college football outside the borders of the Pelican state.
