Recruiting: Tulane receives commitment from Tennessee prep OL B.J. Ragland
Tulane have gained their 12th pledge for the 2021 class and their third commitment within the past eight days.
Red Bank, Tenn. offensive lineman B.J. Ragland pledged Wednesday to the Green Wave over UCF and Coastal Carolina.

The 6-foot-3, 285 pounder with 6’6″ wingspan also considred offers from Army, Liberty, Marshall, New Mexico, Southern Miss, Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Charleston, Navy, East Carolina, Eastern Kentucky, Middle Tennessee, Illinois State and Richmond.
Ragland has twice been selected Class 3A All State. He is ranked among Tennessee’s top 10 offensive linemen by GridironScouting.com.
Tulane offered on June 22nd, so Ragland has yet to visit campus, but he told the Chattanooga Times Free Press that he felt a strong connection in his viral visit with the Wave staff.
“I could feel the energy as soon as I joined my first Zoom meeting with Tulane,” he explained. “The coaches loved me and it felt like home. They gave me a great feel of what it would be like to be a part of the program and the showed a lot of love.”
Ragland also excels in the shot put and a discus throw. He squats 405 pounds and runs a 5.2 forty.
The strong man also moves very well in space, gets out in front of plays (excellent on screens) and displays good feet. Ragland keeps his balance well and maintains good pad level throughout his blocks.
