The Tulane recruiting class for 2019 is up to six with the commitment of Delta Charter’s Freddie Mango.

Listed as an athlete, he plays running back in high school. His future lies on the next level at receiver or defensive back. Mango is a two-time All District performer. In a game against St. Frederick, he totaled 300 yards rushing on 21 carries, accounting for four touchdowns.

Although Tulane is responsible for his only current offer, Mango has taken unofficial visits to Cal, TCU, Arkansas, Tulane, ULL and Florida. Clemson has been monitoring his progress as well.

The 5-foot-11, 175 pounder runs a 4.54 forty and possesses tremendous upside with skills that can change a game. He is extremely confident in his abilities. Mango works hard in the weight room and consistently gives top effort.

Mango admires Saints’ Alvin Kamara.

Also a very good student, Mango hit .390 as a solid center fielder for Delta Charter’s baseball team last season. He also played on the hardwood where he averaged 6.0 points and 6.8 boards per outing.
