Recruiting: Tulane receives commitment from Georgia prep OL Javonte’ McGriff
The Tulane football staff has reached back to their roots for the latest commitment to their 2019 recruiting class.
Thomasville, Georgia interior offensive lineman Javonte’ McGriff may not have received a lot of national offers to date, but he does possess the skills to play in the Green Wave offensive scheme. He visited Tulane campus last week and was intrigued by what he saw enough to commit Tuesday.

Tulane head coach Willie Fritz and many on his current staff came to New Orleans from Georgia Southern so the knowledge of the Peach state scene is deep amongst them.
The 6-foot-2, 271 pounder plays with a good base and leverage. The potential guard or center squats 475 pounds and power cleans. Additionally, McGriff has a high football IQ, matching his 3.7 GPA. He engages his opponent instantly following the snap and plays with good pad level. McGriff is a high-effort performer.
