Tulane continues to rapidly fill out their 2021 football recruiting class, nabbing their 17th pledge Friday and fourth in the month of August.

Tight end Devean Deal from Garland, Texas (Naaman Forest) considered offers from Army, Navy, Air Force, Syracuse, Dartmouth, Kansas, Bucknell, Houston Baptist, Georgetown, ULM, New Mexico, Northwestern, Abilene Christian and Rice.

The three-star talent was named All-District as a two way performer at wide receiver and defensive end. The 6-foot-4, 225 pounder projects to tight end in college.

Deal grabbed 40 passes last season for 519 yards and a score. Defensively, he accumulated 57 tackles with 12 for loss, 10 sacks and an interception.

As a receiver, Deal is dangerous following the catch, tracks balls in the air well from all angles and runs very smooth routes.

Keep an eye on his younger brother, Markis Deal, who is a highly regarded prospect in the 2023 class as an two-way lineman at Naaman Forest.
