Jordan Vidato

Another St. Augustine baseball standout will be continuing his career at the next level. Outfielder Jordan Vidato has committed to Texas Southern.

In 2019, Vidato hit .307 with 30 RBI and 30 runs scored with 15 stolen bases in his senior season for the Purple Knights.

“Jordan was a real key in our success over the last few years and he was one of our best defensive players,” St. Augustine head coach Al Robinson said. “Texas Southern will be getting a great player and a good character guy.”

Vidato is the latest Purple Knight baseball player to have an opportunity to play college baseball.

Over the last three years, the rise of St. Augustine baseball has now produced eight players who have committed to play at the next level.

Vidato joins Will Spears (Arkansas-Little Rock), Mike Mims (Grambling), Kedrick Edwards and Duane McGill (Texas College) while Brandon Watson and Albert Franklin (Tougaloo) in continuing their baseball careers.

Eddie Davis previously committed to play at Cerritos College but he was recently accepted into Notre Dame, where he will attend. Davis may walk on at Notre Dame. He is currently playing in the California Collegiate League.

“We are trying to do it the right way,” Robinson said. “The kids are working hard and they are very deserving of these opportunities.”
