St. Augustine offensive tackle Cam East committed Monday to Mississippi State, becoming the 14th pledge for the Bulldogs in the 2022 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot-7, 280 pounder also considered TCU, Arkansas, Florida State, Georgia, Houston, Memphis, Colorado, Texas Tech and Virginia. He visited TCU (June 11th) and Mississippi State (June 25th). East has held an offer from the Bulldogs since December 9, 2020.

St. Augustine has produced seven offensive linemen who have gone onto the NFL – Louis Oubre, Alfred Jenkins, Nate Dorsey, Louis Age, Selvish Capers, Sam Holden and, most recently, Trai Turner (now with Pittsburgh Steelers).

East is the third ranked offensive tackle in the state of Louisiana for ’22 and the top one in the Greater New Orleans Metro area. He possesses long reach, gets to 2nd level, plays with balance, pass protects well and both muscles or maneuvers defenders with his combination of strength and agility.
