Recruiting: St. Augustine EDGE Jah’rie Garner commits to Tulane
Home is where the heart is.
Tulane hopes that home is where the pass rush is as well.
One better edge rushers in the Metro area, St. Augustine’s Jah’rie Garner, picked the Green Wave over offers from Ole Miss, Southern Miss, UL Lafayette, Marshall, Colorado, Baylor, Florida International, Incarnate Word and Northwestern State.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound Garner received the offer from Tulane on June 2.
Baylor’s Dennis “Meatball” Johnson, the former LSU assistant, did his very best to sway the outside linabacker/defensive end to the Bears. Tulane assistant J.J. McCleskey was responsible winning this commitment battle for the 2023 prospect.
Garner turns a 4.7 in the 40 and bends the edge with an outstanding first step. He squats 465 pounds, dead lifts 415 and bench presses 295. He also holds a 3.2 GPA in the classroom.
His work ethic and hot motor impress recruiters.
