One of the better overall athletes in the state of Louisiana’s 2019 recruiting class is headed to the Ivy League.

Sam Houston High School’s Gerron Duhon has decided on Yale, rejecting offers from Cornell, Tulane, UTSA, McNeese and Grambling.

The 5-foot-10, 170 pounder lines up in backfield where he can slither between would-be tacklers and is elusive in the open field. As a receiver, Duhon displays good separation, gets in and out of breaks quickly and reaches top speed on his second step. He runs a 11.2 in the hundred meters.

Duhon, who transferred from Washington-Marion to Sam Houston, holds a 4.2 GPA and scored 25 on his ACT test. He is the sixth Yale pledge for the ’19 class.
