Rummel All-State linebacker Kolbe Fields committed Friday to Memphis, becoming the 18th overall pledge for the Tigers for the ’21 class.

Memphis now has five commitments in this class from Louisiana. Fields joins John Ehret’s Andrew Jones, Madison Prep’s Tyrell Raby, Bogalusa’s Raheem Roberts and Baker’s Eric Randall.

Fields had previously committed to Oklahoma State in January 20 but reversed that decision July 10th. He has offers from Tulane, Oklahoma State, Purdue, Houston, SMU and South Alabama.

One of the leaders defensively for a stifling defense, Fields helped the unbeaten Raiders capture the Division I state title last. He tallied 105 tackles including 10 for loss plus three interceptions.

Fields is a great blitzer and superb tackler in the open field. He is very aggressive and diagnoses plays quickly.
