The UL Ragin Cajuns gained a verbal commitment from perhaps the best running back in the Greater New Orleans Metro area in the 2023 class.

Riverside Academy’s Elijah “Bill” Davis pledged Sunday to the Ragin’ Cajuns.

The 5-foot-10, 210 pounder also considered offers from Vanderbilt, Charlotte, ULM, Arkansas State, Alcorn, Northwestern State and Nicholls. The three-star prospect received his offer from the Cajuns on Feb. 21.

A back with both excellent power and balance, Davis is a north/south runner who breaks tackles. Considered a stud by opposing coaches, Davis has enough acceleration to take it to the house, possessing 10.93 speed in the 100 meters. He holds a 3.71 GPA.

Davis has twice been named All Metro and All State (2020 and ’21).
