Recruiting: Ponchatoula’s Jacoby Matthews decommits from LSU

Ponchatoula safety Jacoby Matthews announced Friday he is decommitting from LSU.

The 6-foot-2, 205 pounder is a five-star rated talent and the No. 2 ranked safety in the nation according to 247sports. He committed to the Tigers in April over offers from Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas and Mississippi State.

Matthews is a consensus top-three rated player in Louisiana’s 2022 class.
