Recruiting: Parkway kicker Aeron Burrell commits to LSU

Parkway High School’s Aeron Burrell‍ committed Saturday to LSU.

The nation’s No. 1 rated kicker in the 2024 class tabbed LSU over TCU, Houston, Louisiana Tech, Louisiana Lafayette, Grambling and Southern. Burrell still plans to attend specialty camps at both LSU and TCU.

Newly-hired special teams coach John Jancek extended the offer from the Tigers.

Burrell, 6-foot-2, 175 pounds, was 12-of-14 on field goal attempts with a long of 52 yards this past season and also launched 51 of his 52 kickoffs for touchbacks to earn first-team All-State recognition. He also holds a 3.9 GPA.

With a soccer background, Burrell graded out with a high 116 mark at the Kohl’s national kicking camp. Aeron also represented himself well punting the ball at Kohl’s camp with a best 44 yarder that had a 4.37 seconds hang time. His average was 43.3 yards per punt with a 4.24 seconds hang time.
