Recruiting: Olive Branch tight end Jalen Shead commits to LSU

LSU received the 18th pledge for their 2021 football recruiting class and the second one within the past 36 hours.

Olive Branch, Mississippi 4-star tight end Jalen Shead pledged to the Tigers, deciding from a final three consisting of LSU, Ole Miss and Alabama.

Shead was impressed with the way LSU coaches maintained contact with him every couple of days or so.

The 6-foot-4, 240 pounder was drawn to the success of the LSU offense and the way it utilizes the tight end as a pass catching threat. Shead has excellent receiving skills, blocks well and understands the passing game.
