Recruiting: Northwestern State forward Kendal Coleman announces transfer to LSU

Matt McMahon has added the first new player to his LSU roster.

Northwestern State transfer Kendal Coleman has committed to Tigers, the 6-foot-8 forward announced Monday.

The former Captain Shreve High School standout was vited first-team All-Southland Conference this past season. He averaged 15.4 points 10.1 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game for the Demons during what was his second college season. Coleman has three years of eligibility remaining.

The Shrevport native performed well against top level competition. Coleman scored 16 points with 13 rebounds in 33 minutes on 8-of-11 from the floor versus LSU. He also scored in double figures against SMU (20), Oklahoma (19 points), Texas A&M (12), Houston (11) and Baylor (12).

The addition of Coleman comes on the heels of LSU forward Shareef O’Neal’s decision to enter the transfer portal. The Tigers have four players in the portal currently while star Tari Eason has announced his intentions to go pro.
