Newman wide receiver A.J. Johnson has committed to LSU.

The 6-foot-3, 195 pounder in the Class of 2022 chose the Tigers over Georgia, Alabama, Miami, Florida State and several other Power 5 programs.

Johnson had 40 receptions for 558 yards and six touchdowns as a junior. He did not play as a sophomore after transferring from McMain.

Johnson is the third receiver among the 10 commitments in the current class for LSU along with Aaron Anderson of Edna Karr and Decoldest Crawford of Green Oaks.
