Mandeville kicker Caden Costa committed to Ole Miss for their 2021 class.

The 6-foot-1, 185 pounder held offers from Air Force, Army, UConn, Louisiana-Lafayette and Penn. LSU and Colorado also express serious interest.

Ole Miss offered Costa a scholarship when Oxford High School kicker Jack Tannehill decommitted from his hometown school. Costa represents the Rebels’ seventh pledge for 2021. He has not yet visited the Ole Miss campus but plans to do so pending the lessening of COVID-19 related restrictions.

Costa has a booming leg, rated among the top 10 placekickers in the class and also highly regarded as a punter, rated the seventh best punter in the country and the 57th overall by the prestigious Chris Sailor Kicking Camp.

An excellent student-athlete with a 4.1 GPA and a 30 on his ACT, Costa was named All District on the 2019 6-5A team. He converted on 70% of his field goal attempts last season and drove his kickoffs over 65 yards on average with a 4.0 second hang time. He also averaged 39.3 yards per punt with a 3.86 second hang time.

Costa also plays soccer and baseball for the Mandeville Skippers.
