LSU enjoyed a bountiful haul in the 2021 football signing class but the Tigers still have one spot available.

A candidate to fill the final vacancy may be four-star safety Kendal Daniels out of Beggs, Oklahoma.

Numerous reports out of his home state have the nation’s fifth rated safety considering Oklahoma and Oklahoma State, but you can add LSU and Clemson as possible landing spots.

The 6-4, 190-pound Daniels originally signed with Texas A&M on December 16 but the man who was instrumental in the recruiting process for Texas A&M, defensive analyst Ishmael Artistide, took a job as the new outside linebackers coach at Miami (FL) just this past week. Consequently, Daniels requested a release from his national letter of intent with the Aggies.

Newly on the open market, Daniels plans to make a decision soon.

Daniels totaled 120 tackles with 14 for loss plus six sacks and four interceptions this past season. Oklahoma top rated player for 2021 added 56 catches for 642 yards and 10 touchdowns as a wide receiver as well.

A very physical run defender, he needs a little polish as an open field tackler. Outstanding ball skills as a safety and receiver make him an exciting playmaker.

Odds are he will land at a school in-state but he’s worth pursuing for Ed Orgeron and the Tigers’ staff.

Even though LSU signed five-star Sage Ryan, four-star Derrick Davis, Jr. and late-riser Matthew Langlois as safeties in the ’21 class, Daniels has exciting potential and projects as a potential hybrid defensive back/linebacker as he fills out his frame.
