LSU reeled in their eighth pledge for the 2019 football recruiting class with the addition of 3 star center Charles Turner from IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.).

The 6-foot-4, 245 pound prospect displays quick hands, has long reach, plays with balance and doesn’t lunge at defenders. He is the nation’s sixth rated center in the ’19 class.

LSU’s new offensive line coach James Cregg was the primary recruiter for Turner, who visited Florida and Kentucky recently and considered offers from Auburn, Cincinnati, Missouri, Ohio State, Michigan, Nebraska, Minnesota and South Carolina.

Turner attended LSU’s Junior Day on March 17.

The Tigers are also recruiting elite running back Noah Cain, 3 star QB David Baldwin, 4 star offensive lineman Evan Neal and 4 star linebacker Mikel Jones. All of them attend IMG Academy and are highly regarded in the 2019 class.
