After LSU’s big win over second-ranked Georgia last Saturday, it seems one member of the 2019 class came away unimpressed. The Tigers lost an important piece Tuesday.

Houston area 4-star cornerback Marcus Banks announced on Twitter that he was reopened his recruitment after previously committing to LSU:

The Spring, Texas CB Marcus Banks has been ranked as the 14th best CB in the nation in the ’19 class. Alabama, a close finalist when he committed to LSU in June, still appear to be in the picture. Texas A&M is in the mix as well. Arkansas, Baylor, Auburn, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Houston, Oregon State, TCU, Stanford, Michigan, Notre Dame and Oklahoma are also making a pitch to the 6-foot-1, 170 pounder with 4.54 speed.

Despite Banks backing out, LSU still sits in the seventh slot nationally in the 2019 class rankings with 19 overall commits. In that group are four cornerbacks – 5 star Derek Stingley, 4 star Maurice Hampton, 4 star Dreshun Miller and 3 star Cordale Flott.

Southeastern’s class has grown for the 2019 signing period to two with the commitment of Kentwood wide receiver Ed Magee, who decided on the Lions after considering an offer from Idaho.

Magee (5-11, 170 with 4.6 speed) is a skilled athlete. A good route runner who comes back towards the ball well, he doubles as a cornerback for the Kangeroos with good coverage ability. He is physical in the open field.
