TCU ran a close second in the competition for the 6-foot-2, 280 pounder who considered offers from LSU, Arizona State, Oregon, Purdue, Kentucky, Miami, Nebraska, Mississippi State, USC, SMU, Memphis, LA Tech, Florida State, Tulane, Arkansas, Auburn and Kansas State.
The four-star rated prospect is a consensus top 150 recruit who just cracks the top 20 at his position. Reed missed most of the 2021 season after suffering a torn ACL. He did manage to record 39 tackles, an interception and three pass brakeups for the Trailblazers.
Reed has a long reach and looks outstanding in man coverag. He will fight for 50/50 balls. Reed recognizes routes early and comes up to challenge the run.
