Recruiting: Lafayette Christian’s Jada Richard commits to LSU women’s basketball

Kim Mulkey, fresh off a national title parade in Baton Rouge, never takes a break.

Jada Richard, the top player in the Pelican state for the 2024 class, is the latest commitment to Mulkey’s LSU Tigers.

The first pledge for LSU’s 2024 class, she holds a 4.11 GPA.

The 5-foot-7 guard led Lafayette Christian to three consecutive state titles. She averaged 32 points, 6.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 5.0 steals this past season while surpassing 2,000 points scored for her prep career.

In a 79-69 overtime win over John Curtis, Richard scored 55 points. She also had a 52-point effort in a 59-58 victory over Southern Lab. She is the first pledge for Mulkey for the ’24 class. She holds a 4.11 GPA.

Her mother Cynthia was a basketball player at Southern University. Jada considered offers from Louisiana Tech, ULL, Ole Miss, Houston, Tulane, ULM, Eastern Kentucky, UCF, UNO, SMU, Western Kentucky and Arizona State.

Richard has terrific accuracy from behind the arc and an excellent mid-range pull up jumper. She can drive and finish at the rim as well. Richard also possesses great court vision. She eats, sleeps and breathes basketball. An admitted gym rat, she has tremendous confidence and karisma.
