The 6-foot-1, 225 pounder is the 19th commitment for the Tigers, adding to a recruiting class that is now ranked third in the nation.
Power programs including Florida State, Auburn, Ole Miss, Clemson, Georgia, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas, Oregon, Texas A&M, North Carolina, Oklahoma and Louisville were among his suitors but Auburn was thought to be the closest competition.
Starks is the fourth linebacker in the 2019 class and the top ranked at his position in the state.
A violent, downhill tackler, the Under Armour All-American is a prototypical inside linebacker for the Dave Aranda defense.
More good news for the Tigers on the trail come out og Kentwood, where 4 star wide receiver Trey Palmer (6-0, 180) paired his list to a final five including LSU, Mississippi State, Alabama, Florida and Arizona State. LSU is considered the favorite.
Elsewhere, Destrehan quarterback Harold “JR” Blood (6-2, 185) reportedly has decided on Stephen F. Austin. Blood surveys the field well, possesses good overall tools and doesn’t get rattled under pressure. He has a high football IQ.
Blood threw for 1,809 yards with 21 touchdown passes with seven interceptions in 2017. He threw for career-high five touchdown passes against H.L Bourgeois last fall.
