Recruiting: John Curtis RB Aaron Johnson Jr. headed to Tyler Community College
John Curtis Christian relied heavily on its ground attack this past season, as is the case annually. The execution was excellent and it helped lead to a Division I Select state title.
A big part of the success equation for the Patriots was Aaron Johnson, Jr, who was very good as a runner and blocker. The 6-foot-1, 210 pound Johnson is headed to Tyler Community College.
Johnson rushed for 712 yards and four touchdowns in 2022. As a power runner with toughness, he presents quite a challenge for any defender to handle. Very strong, Johnson boasts a 500 pound squat and 265 pound power clean.
Johnson runs very well between the tackles but he is also elusive enough to bounce outside. He excels as a lead blocker on running plays.
Johnson also plays a key role as a frequent starter for the excellent John Curtis basketball team.
