Don’t try to tell Tulane head football coach Willie Fritz that New Orleans doesn’t have enough talent to support a winning college football program.

The Green Wave are starting to build momentum with their current class, landing four pledges for 2020 from players within 60 miles of the Willow Street campus.

The latest addition is Angelo Anderson from John Curtis. The defensive end and outside linebacker certainly had his opportunities to leave the area with offers from Colorado, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kansas State along with Nicholls.

The 6-foot-2, 261 pounder can play from a two-point or three-point stance as a hybrid edge. He demonstrates athleticism, great effort and a hot motor. Anderson seals the edge and shows excellent pass rushing skills. He keeps his outside shoulder free to allow him to skate to the near sideline to make a tackle going wide.

Anderson had 61 tackles, 19 tackles for loss, 11 sacks and 19 hurries last season for the Patriots.

Now only are the current commitments from close proximity to Tulane’s campus, but all four are from winning programs with high visibility on the recruiting trail. The Wave is growing.
