The offspring of former LSU wide receiver Abram Booty and nephew of a pair of ex-NFL quarterbacks is set to take the major college stage.

General Booty, a quarterback at Tyler Junior College in Texas, committed to the Oklahoma Sooners this past weekend. He considered offers from New Mexico, Presbyterian, Liberty, Yale, Nicholls, McNeese and ULM.

The 6-3, 195-pound Booty has three seasons of eligibility remaining. He is included in the 2022 class.

Oklahoma has recently added a pair of signal callers this offseason as transfers – Dillon Gabriel of UCF and Davis Beville of Pitt.

Booty threw for 3,115 yards, 25 touchdowns and 11 interceptions at Tyler in 11 games last year. His season high effort featured 528 yards and eight touchdowns against Navarro.

His experiences before junior college inclided time at four separate high schools, two in California, one in San Antonio and another in Allen, Texas. He graduates from Allen High School, also the alma mater of Arizona Cardinals starter Kyler Murray.

Booty received the first name General due to his father Abram’s fascination with the military. Abram Booty, an Evangel Christian (Shreveport) alum like his brothers Josh Booty and John David Booty, played at LSU from 1997 to 2000.
