Eight of LSU’s 11 commitments for the 2022 class are from Louisiana. The four-star Hill is the first defensive tackle in the class.
Hill, 6-3, 285 pounds, chose LSU over offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Colorado, Virginia, Louisiana Tech, Michigan State, Miami, Texas, Tennessee, Kansas and Kentucky.
LSU assistants Mickey Joseph and Andre Carter, the new Tigers defensive line coach, collaborated on Hill’s recruitment.
Hill started as a freshman at Karr, a Louisiana prep football powerhouse in Class 4A. He plays with excellent leverage and great quickness, often destroying blockers. Hill has gained strength the past two seasons. He reminds me a great deal of another former Karr star, Gerald Willis, who excelled in college and eventually went to NFL. Hill could comfortably play at 300 pounds or a bit more.
