Recruiting: East Tennessee State OL Tre’Mond Shorts announes transfer to LSU

LSU has hauled in another important addition to its offensive line through the transfer portal with the commitment Tuesday by East Tennessee State’s Tre’Mond Shorts.

Shorts joins FIU offensive tackle Miles Frazier as the second transfer offensive lineman secured by Brian Kelly and his staff this offseason.

A vastly experienced college player who signed with ETSU in 2017, Shorts will likely start somewhere along the offensive line for the Tigers in his final season of eligibility. The 6-foot-4, 325-pound multi-year FCS All-American with 40 starts at left tackle may join Frazier as LSU’s starting tackles in 2022.

With the commitment of former Missouri defensive lineman Mehki Wingo earlier Tuesday, LSU now has 11 new transfers set to join the spring roster.
