The Arizona Wildcats coaching staff has a long way to travel to the Crescent City for recruiting purposes, but they have more than made it worth their while in building their 2021 class.

De La Salle three-star defensive end Ja’Marian Peterson committed on Sunday afternoon to Arizona.

Peterson joins a fellow Cavalier teammate, running back Montrell Johnson, who committed to Arizona earlier this month.

Out of 18 commitments for the Wildcats in their 2021 class to date, four come from New Orleans including Holy Cross linebacker Kolbe Cage and Booker T. Washington wide receiver Tyrese Johnson.

The 6-foot-3, 238 pounder chose the Wildcats over offers from a number of FBS schools including Tulane, Louisiaan Tech, ULM and ULL as well as Boston College, Colorado, Illinois, Indiana, Memphis, Ole Miss, Washington State and UCF.

Peterson is rated by 247Sports as the 75th-best defensive end for the ’21 recruiting cycle. He possesses outstanding skills, able to run very well (4.7 forty), cover a lot a ground and rush the passer. Peterson has worked hard on his grades to make himself eligible to play on the college level.
