Catholic-Pointe Coupee’s Matthew Langlois has been moving up in the college football recruiting world.

When the national champions in his home state came calling, the versatile athlete answered it.

Langlois, a former Kansas State commitment, has committed to LSU for the 2021 class.

The 6-foot, 190-pounder is a phenomenal athlete, running a 4.4 40-yard dash while turning in a time of 10.97 in the hundred meters. He holds a 3.7 GPA and attained a 21 on his ACT test.

Langlois rarely leaves the field. On offense, the running back compiled 1,343 yards rushing (11.5 yards per carry) with 27 touchdowns. He also displays soft hands as a receiver. On the defensive side of the ball, Langlois tallied 68 tackles with 14 for losses, 12 passes broken up and four sacks last season in leading the Hornets to the LHSAA Division IV state title game.

The All-State performer is very physical but also a sure tackler in space. He tries to emulate Tyrann Mathieu, which works out well for Langlois since his best position in college most likely will be at safety.
