His verbal meant much more than just another player for the ’22 class. It was imperative that the Tigers closed the Baton Rouge product. Jones helps fill a major void on the depth chart with most of the current LSU offensive line starters expected to depart following the ’21 campaign.
The 6-foot-5, 342 pounder out of Catholic High paired his final choices down to LSU and Florida State. LSU has been his dream school for quite some time.
Despite his massive size, Jones is light on his feet. He possesses good quickness out of his stance and thrives as a drive blocker. Jones moves well to the second level and finishes blocks. He maintains good pad level throughout and plays snap to whistle.
Jones is also a leader-type who others follow. He could be very instrumental in helping recruit others to the Tiger program.
