The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Johnson snared 40 passes for 832 yards (20.8 yards per catch) and eight touchdowns in 2019. He is talented enough to have drawn offers in basketball from Georgetown, UAB and Stephen F. Austin. Johnson is the 14th overall prospect in Louisiana in the 2021 class and the sixth rated receiver in the state in a loaded class.
A big-play threat with an outstanding catching radius, Johnson high points balls and wins on 50/50 catches. He has reliable hands and great confidence.
Johnson also considered offers from Florida State, Colorado, Memphis, Arkansas, Houston, Miami, Kansas, La. Tech, Louisville, Tulane, Tennessee, SMU, UCF, Miss. State, Virginia, SLU and South Alabama.
Arizona tight ends and inside receivers’ coach Theron Aych, a native of Zachary, La., handled the recruiting.
