Amite cornerback Daran Branch committed to Ole Miss this weekend, giving the Rebels 23 pledges for the 2020 class. He had previously pledged to Miami March 19, but flipped his commitment following an unofficial visit to Oxford.

Branch represents the seventh defensive back in the class and the third Pelican State product, joining Parkview Baptist defensive tackle De Santo Rollins and Calvary Baptist safety Eric Reed.

The 6-foot-1, 168 pound Branch is long and athletic with good hips. He stays stride-for-stride with receivers and comes up to challenge the run. Native New Orleanian Calvin Magee, the offensive assistant and tight end coach for the Rebels, handled recruiting of Branch.

Branch fielded additional offers from Auburn, Kentucky, Memphis, Tulane, ULM, La. Tech, Colorado, Kansas, Grambling, Tulsa, Miami and Oklahoma State.
