LSU added 2023 tight end when Jackson McGohan from Miamisburg, Ohio committed to the Tigers following his visit to Baton Rouge this past weekend.

Tigers offensive coordinator Mike Denbrock has served as the primary recruiter for McGohan, who originally committed to Cincinnati back on Jan. 19. The change in plans came December 5 following an offer from LSU. Cincinnati recently lost head coach Luke Fickell to Wisconsin. Denbrock was Fickell’s offensive coordinaor before joining Brian Kelly’s LSU staff in the same capacity just under a year ago.

McGohan, who snared 52 passes for 941 yards with 12 touchdowns this past prep season, also considered offers from Oklahoma, Auburn, Miami, Iowa, Purdue, Boston College, Utah State, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Appalachian State and Pittsburgh.

At 6-4, 232-pounds with 4.6 speed, McGohan is considered a hybrid with skills to play in line or split out wide. He is a good receiver who can win the 50/50 balls by climbing the ladder. McGohan is a good route runner who is also dangerous after catch and a threat on reverses.

Visiting alongside McGohan were several LSU commits for 2023 – OT Zalnace Heard, OT Tyree Adams, RB Kaleb Jackson, safety Ashton Stamps and DE Dylan Carpenter.
