The 6-foot-4, 325-pound Owens received his offer from Tulane on May 16. His other offer came from Incarnate Word.
The mauling blocker already dead lifts 495 pounds and squats 440. He holds a 3.25 GPA.
The Fossil Ridge High School product from Keller, Texas has played left tackle and defensive tackle but projects inside at guard at the next level.
Owens locks onto opponents and drives them to the turf when balanced. He maintains his feet throughout plays. Owens does not over extend on his blocks. For a big lineman, he does a good job flowing quickly to the second level.
