For those involved with LSU football who have been looking forward better things in 2021, it started off with a bang.

Offensive lineman Kimo Makaneole announced his commitment to the Tigers just after midnight to start the New Year. The Niceville, Fla. product had de-committed from Florida State earlier in the week.

LSU and Ole Miss gained ground with Makaneole in recent weeks, and he visited Baton Rouge when the two programs met to wrap up the regular season.

The 6-foot-5, 285-pounder helps fill a huge need for more offensive linemen in the current LSU class. The Tigers signed only one – Garrett Dellinger – in the early period.

Makaneole has been projected by many as a guard but sme analysts think he could play tackle.
