NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Southeastern Louisiana’s Southland Conference series opener Friday at Stephen F. Austin has been washed out.

The Lions (20-12, 13-7 SLC) and SFA (12-16, 9-7 SLC) will now play a pair of doubleheaders beginning at 1 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday.

Sunday’s games can be heard in the Hammond area on the flagship station of the Southeastern Sports Radio Network – KSLU 90.9 FM – in addition to online at www.LionSports.net/ListenLive and via both the Lions Gameday Experience and TuneIn Radio apps. There will be no radio coverage of Saturday’s games.

Other options to follow the action this weekend include live statistics or the @LionUpBaseball Twitter account. Links to audio and stats are available on the baseball schedule page at www.LionSports.net.

Southeastern will play 14 of its remaining 21 regular-season games on the road leading into the 2021 Southland Conference Baseball Tournament, presented by GeoSurfaces. The conference’s top eight eligible teams will square off in the double-elimination event, May 26-29, at Southeastern’s Pat Kenelly Diamond at Alumni Field.

The Lions enter the weekend in sole possession of first place in the conference standings, a half-game up on McNeese (18-14, 12-7 SLC) and one game ahead of New Orleans (17-15, 12-8 SLC). Nicholls (14-17, 9-7 SLC), Northwestern State (15-15, 9-7 SLC), Sam Houston (15-16, 11-9 SLC) and SFA all sit two games back, tied for fourth place.
