Privateers announce matchups, game times for Andre Dawson Classic

NEW ORLEANS – The Andre Dawson Classic schedule and times have been announced. There are 11 total games going on during the weekend of Feb. 19-21 between Maestri Field and Wesley Barrow Stadium.

The Privateers’ games in the event will all held at Maestri Field. The season gets going with their first opponent, Alabama State, on Friday, Feb. 19. First pitch is scheduled for 7 p.m. This will be just the third time the Privateers and Hornets will face off on the diamond.

On Saturday, Feb. 20 the Privateers will take on Alcorn State with a first pitch slated for 4 p.m. The Privateers have never lost in 10 career meetings against the Braves.

The weekend wraps up with a Sunday afternoon tilt against Jackson State. First pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m. New Orleans split a pair of meetings against the Tigers in 2019.

The Andre Dawson Classic was formerly known as the MLB Urban Youth Invitational.
